None, but knowledge of machine tools is an advantage.

Performance objectives

Give the participant an understanding of typical measuring applications for machine tools, e.g. spindle direction, straightness, flatness and squareness (lathes, milling machines etc.).
Give the participant an understanding in different methods of alignment.
Give the participant an understanding in applying different alignment tolerances.
Learn to combine different measuring programs to be able to solve measuring problems.
To give the participant the skills to master the handling of the Easy-Laser® measurement systems to measure straightness, spindle direction, flatness,and squareness.

Course description

The class addresses maintenance technicians or other service personnel.
The class focuses on methods for measuring/alignment of machine tools:

- Different machine tools and their associated measuring needs.
- Basics of measuring technics, laser theory.
- Practice measuring of straightness, spindle-direction, flatness, and squareness.
- Practice mounting and use of Easy-Laser® measurement systems on machine tools.
- Practice combining different measuring programs for different applications, solving practical measuring problems.
- Practice measuring and evaluation.
- Practice saving and documentation, transfering to PC.
- Final exam.
